Each summer, the Midwest’s lowrider community gathers along the industrial edge of Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood for a celebration of a decades-old subculture. Slow and Low: Community Lowrider Festival brings the soulful murals, elaborate interiors, car hopping competitions, and other standout elements from lowrider culture to the public. Over 300 cars from multiple car clubs are now showcased each year in addition to performances by indigenous dancers, mariachi bands, DJs and breakdancers throughout this streetside festival.
